UTTC Women Advance to Semi-Final Game After Defeating Miles City, 90-67
The United Tribes women's basketball team defeat Miles City in the Buster Gilliss Preseason Tournament.
NEW TOWN, ND - Sapphire Lablanc netted a career-high 29 points to help guide the United Tribes women's basketball team to a 90-67 win over Miles City on Friday night at the Four Bears Event Center.
Lablanc posted a career-high 29 points after knocking down a career-best 9 field goals on 18 attempts over 35 minutes of action. The Mandan, ND native also hauled in 12 rebounds with two assists and two steals, giving her her first double-double performance of her collegiate career.
Sophomores, Kaycee Desjarlais and Ronessa Sazue, each added 12 points, while Alani Morin narrowly missed double-digits with eight points.
As a team, the Thunderbirds shot 48.3 percent (29-60) from the field and 58.1% (18-31) from the free throw line.
UTTC advances to the semi-final game, in the Buster Gilliss Mon-Dak Conference Tournament, as they take on Williston State College, Saturday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:15pm CST at the Four Bears Event Center.
