Wildcats' Shooting Too Much for Thunderbirds
North Dakota College of Science went 15-of-32 from the perimeter and shot 57 percent on the night to lift the Wildcats over the Thunderbirds, 104-73, Sunday afternoon at the James Henry Gymnasium.
North Dakota State College of Science closed the first quarter with four triples and never looked back Sunday afternoon, as the Wildcats beat the United Tribes women's basketball team 104-73 at the James Henry Gymnasium. The Wildcats entered the game ranked 1st in the Mon-Dak Athletic Conference women's basketball standings.
UTTC dropped to 2-7 overall, while the Wildcats improved to 9-0 overall. The Thunderbirds will travel to Turtle Mountain Community College Tuesday, Nov. 23. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
Freshman, Sandie Friday, had a career-high 20 points, while Kelanna McClain and Tyleigh Brady added 16 and 14 points respectively. Amaya Ramsey rounded out the Thunderbirds' double-figure scoring with 11 points. Tyleigh Brady had a game-high seven assists, while Kelanna McClain added seven rebounds and two steals. Mon-Dak Preseason Tournament MVP, Ivane Tensaie, led three Wildcats in double figures with 26 points.
The Thunderbirds were 30-of-60 (50%) from the field and 6-of-14 (42.9%) from 3-point range. North Dakota State College of Science was 41-of-72 (56.9%) from the floor and 15-of-32 (46.9%) from downtown. UTTC was 7-of-9 (77.8%) from the free throw line, while NDSCS was 7-of-16 (43.8%). The Wildcats had advantages in points off turnovers (7-4), points off the bench (14-8) and second chance points (30-4).
