UTTC Women Fall to Dawson; Finish Fourth in the Buster Gilliss Tipoff Classic
The United Tribes Technical College Thunderbirds finish fourth in the Buster Gilliss Conference Tournament.
The United Tribes women's basketball team dropped an 83-77 decision to Dawson Community College Sunday afternoon in the Buster Gilliss Mon-Dak Tipoff Classic. The Thunderbirds finished the tournament with a 1-2 record, placing fourth out of eight Mon-Dak conference teams.
UTTC moved to 2-2 on the year, while Dawson improved to 3-1.
LaTosha Thunderhawk led the Thunderbirds with 27 points, while Tyleigh Brady added 21. Amaya Ramsey had 11 points, while Gerika Kingbird and Sossity Spotted Wolf each had eight. Samantha Jenkins led four Buccaneers in double figures with 18 points. LaTosha Thunderhawk had a season-high 16 rebounds, while Ramsey and Spotted Wolf each had six.
The Thunderbirds were 26-of-69 (37.7%) from the floor and 4-of-17 from 3-point range. Dawson was 32-of-70 (45.7%) from the field and 4-of-15 (26.7%) from downtown. UTTC was 21-of-32 at the free throw line, while the Buccaneers were 15-of-26 at the charity stripe.
