United Tribes Tyree Whitcomb Named Mon Dak Conference Player of the Week

Tyree Whitcomb, a 6'7 sophomore forward from United Tribes Technical College, has been named the Mon Dak Conference men's basketball player of the week. In two games last week while shooting 51% from field, he scored 60 points, had 16 rebounds, 4 blocked shots, and 4 assists.  He averaged 30 points and 8 rebounds for the week including a 36 point outburst leading the team to an overtime win over Dakota College Bottineau.   

Tyree is from Browning, Montana.  He is a member of the Blackfeet Nation and atteded Browning High School.

The Thunderbirds hit the road for the Region XIII Tournament this week.  They play Gogebic College in  a quarterfinal matchup at 6pm Central Standard time on Friday night in Escanaba, MI.
