Kelsey Peltier is in her second season as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at United Tribes Technical College. Peltier comes from Dunseith, North Dakota and is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. Peltier has been heavily involved with some of the top summer basketball teams throughout Indian Country. These notable teams claimed multiple championships including Denver All-West Native American Classic and the Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI). Through her involvement, she gained experience and had success in recruiting, player development, and mentoring young women.
In 2013-2014, Peltier was an assistant high school girls’ coach for the Dunseith Lady Dragons located in north central North Dakota. As an assistant her responsibilities included teaching players the importance of basic fundamentals, organizing practice drills, and coordinating game film.
After graduating in 2010 from Bottineau (ND) High School, Peltier continued her education and basketball career for the Division I North Dakota State University Bison. In 2012, Peltier became part of the University of Mary’s women’s basketball program in Bismarck, ND before graduating from the University of North Dakota in 2016 with her B.S. in Clinical Psychology.
The Dunseith, ND native, led her high school to three North Dakota State Championships. She was a two-time ND All-State selection and was inducted into the +1000 point club. Her achievements landed her an important role on the North Dakota All-Star team her senior year.
